Basic Discipleship in Papua New Guinea
PAPUA NEW GUINEA—James is a Christian young man who attends a teacher’s college in Papua New Guinea. Earlier in the year, James presented the gospel to six of his friends. They responded by professing their faith in Jesus Christ. Even though English isn’t their native language, all of these young men can read and speak English. Realizing that these six “new believer” friends needed to be discipled, James asked Bill Smith, leader of the ABWE missionary team in Papua New Guinea, about the availability of discipleship materials in English. Bill gave James seven copies of The Way to Joy. James took his friends through a study of The Way to Joy and reported to Bill that the studies went very well and he appreciated the material.
