I wanted to tell you of the good things the Lord is doing in the lives of my children and their friends. I was blessed in my studying, prepping, and teaching The Story of Hope - Kids this summer to 20 kids on the back porch of my house. I taught the kids (ages 5-12) for about an hour and fifteen minutes straight. And I did not have to ask the kids to listen or be quiet, even one time, throughout the entire week! →
We learned about Good Soil Evangelism and Discipleship after our pastor and Sam, another man from our church, attended a Good Soil seminar in Grand Rapids, MI. Sam introduced us to some of the Good Soil materials. And he offered to go with us to ABWE in Harrisburg, PA to participate in Good Soil training in order that we could be equipped to train others using the Good Soil seminar resources. →
On a Sunday morning in March, years ago, I attended a little country church where I heard a gospel message. At the end of the sermon, the pastor invited people to come forward if they wanted to have their sins forgiven in order to spend eternity with God. I responded. For a teacher, the flip side of considering what your students DO know about your subject is considering what they do NOT know. And the next step is giving them what they MUST know in order to know what they NEED to know. You may want to let that sink in, because it is important for those of us who want to share the gospel with unbelievers. We caught the vision of ABWE to fulfill the Great Commission by multiplying leaders, churches, and mission movements among every people. We just weren’t sure how our work at the school would fulfill this vision. God made it clear that he would use this compassion ministry to develop leaders. →
