Pastor Valdir works at a school for the deaf in Petrolina, Brazil. He and his church connect with this population by preaching and holding Bible studies in Brazilian sign language.

For a long time, Pastor Validar has searched for a way facilitiate one-on-one in discipleship with the deaf students. Appropriate materials, however, were lacking. “Nothing met the needs and demands for the deaf,” he lamented.

That is, until a missionary gave him The Way to Joy. The book was easy to read and its illustrations helped the students to retain what they had learned. This is “a course that has Biblical content and is simple to understand” Pastor Valdir says.

“I really like it,” Pastor Valdir says. “I believe this is an ideal course for ministry to, and discipleship of, the deaf.”
